Miss Nadine A. Molloy is currently the interim Principal of the Shortwood Teachers’ College, on secondment from the Ardenne High School. She has been a teacher since 1992, an administrator since 2000 and a librarian since 1999. She holds teacher education qualification from the Church Teachers’ College, Bachelor of Arts (Hons) from the University of the West Indies, a Master in Library and Information Studies from the University of the West Indies and a Master in Education Administration from Andrews University. 

For her, her critical pillars of the industry/enterprise are education transformation and the integration of digital innovations into teaching, learning and assessment activities, whilst at the same time, maintaining a balance of building relationships and emotional connections as central to the raison d’etre of the profession. Her other current professional interests extend to include union renewal, teacher preparation, teacher well-being, recruitment and retention. All of this is with one aim in focus, student success.

She believes that education locally and internationally is at this critical juncture where the opportunities for innovation are many to engage in reshaping the future of work both within the education sector and those it so greatly influences. She envisions Shortwood Teachers’ College strategically reimagining, repositioning and retooling itself to remain a critical and leading process owner in this new era.

She currently serves as a member of the Education Taskforce Oversight Committee (ETOC), the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Jamaica Teachers’ Association (JTA) and sits on several of its committees including the Committee on the Status of Women. Nadine is a past president of the JTA, the Jamaica Association of Principals of Secondary Schools (JAPSS) and the Caribbean Association of Principals of Secondary Schools (CAPSS). She is also a member of the Executive Principals’ League. Since July 2019 she has been an Executive Board member of Education International, the global umbrella teacher organization representing over 30 million teachers and education support workers. She was recently elected for a second five-year term. She has given national and regional service on public and private sector boards.

She is often engaged in motivational and professional speaking engagements locally, primarily in education circles.  She is particularly interested in the sharing of job/authentic experiences and how they have shaped education development and delivery. The former LASCO/MoEY Principal of the Year, JTA Honour Roll recipient and Prime Minister Medal of Appreciation awardee is also a school inspector. She has a simple personal philosophy – leave it a little better than you found it.
