Language Arts

Why English?
Promoting the learning and teaching of English is an integral part of our department. Our students choose English because our programmes equip them with careers that value communication.

Areas of Study/Specialization:
There are four programmes of study currently offered within the Language Arts Department

1. Double Option English Language & Literature: Full-time; 4 years
2. English Language (major) & Literacy (minor): Full-time; 4 years
3. Advanced Credit Programme (ACP): Full-time and Part-time; 2 years
4. MOE In-service Programme: Full-time and Part-time; 2 years

Our aim is to prepare and equip our students with the requisite knowledge, methodology and skills which will enable them to, at the highest level, be adept at communicating in Standard English and in the process foster in them a deep love for language and literature. To accomplish this vision, we seek to empower our students to embrace the core values of the college: collaboration, accountability, professionalism, respect, and integrity.
