Janette A Williams, Ph.D. is an adult educator, who has served in multiple capacities at the different tiers of the tertiary education system for over two decades. Her knowledge, skills and expertise have been honed by the training, education and qualification earned at Moneague Teachers’ College, (Cert.) Jamaica School of Drama now Edna Manley College School of the Visual & Performing Arts, (Dip.) Central Connecticut State University, (BA) University of South Florida in collaboration with Shortwood Teachers’ College (MA) and Walden University (Ph.D.). She has established excellent work relationship with personnel at Joint Board of Teacher Education, Teachers’ Colleges of Jamaica and other stakeholders external and internal to the college.
Dr. Williams currently serves as Director of Marketing & Communications and lecturer in the Language Arts Department at Shortwood Teachers’ College. She is a team player who supports and enhances the quality of the college’s academic and extra-curricular programmes through leadership roles, evidence based research and the development of governance policies. Her involvement in Jamaican theatre and the wider community demonstrates her commitment to nation building. Her research interest taps into experiential learning, education through the arts, multiculturalism, and diversity. She loves nature, promotes capacity building and embraces social change.
