Dr. Coke an experienced educator has taught at the secondary and tertiary levels in Jamaica for more than 30 years. She is very experienced in curricula development and course evaluation and enjoys composing songs and arranging selections for her church and college related activities as a medium for creative expression.
She holds a Ph. D. in Teacher Education from the University of the West Indies; a M. A. in Curriculum Instruction from the University of British Columbia; a B. Ed (Hons. UWI, Mona) and a Licentiate Royal School of Music (LRSM) in Piano Teaching.
An alumnus of Shortwood, she has served the institution in diverse roles including Head of the Aesthetics Department, and Director of Quality Assurance. As the current Vice Principal of Academic Affairs, she thrives to promote an equitable student environment developing and implementing policies and initiatives that enhance student academic achievement, personal and professional growth.
An avid team-builder, she is committed to professional ethics and standards of practice, leads by example, and strives for excellence in building a positive and cooperative College community.
With God as her helper, her goal is to continue contributing positively to the field of education and making a difference in the lives of her students, co-workers, and friends.
