Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for ONE (1) position of Lecturer in the Professional Studies Department.
Qualification:
Applicants must possess a Master’s Degree or higher in Special Education.
Applicants should possess the following:
- professional teacher certification
- a minimum of five (5) years teaching experience at the tertiary or secondary level.
- a strong research background, with the ability to teach and guide students in research.
- experience assessing student performance through a variety of evaluation methods.
- advanced knowledge of educational technology, LMS platforms (specifically Moodle), and integrating ICT into instructional design.
- excellent communication and time management skills and be highly motivated, goal and team oriented.
- leadership skills with a clear vision of how to achieve and maintain excellence in teacher preparation, in accordance with the Certification Regulations of the Teachers’ Colleges of Jamaica and the policies of the Ministry of Education.
- the ability to contribute to the ethos of the college community through departmental activities, outreach, collaboration, and interdisciplinary initiatives.
*Candidates with a background in Primary Education will be at a distinct advantage.
